Re: HBO MAX

What disgusts me is that we essentially had HBO Max. Sky owned the rights to the content and a majority of Sky Originals were HBO and were included within every package. Now there's a mixture. It's an absolutely wool pulling over the eyes move and I think it'd borderline fraud. What the hell is the Sky Ultimate package getting you now if you have to pay an extra £10 per month for decent quality.

Hey everyone.
signed up via the app on my sky stream box, using my sky email address. All seemed pretty smooth until I came back out of the app. every part of HBO I click on takes me to the select subscription part. (With the free one selected)

I can't actually get to the movies or shows at all.

I think you are confusing Sky exclusives with Sky Originals. HBO content isn't Sky Originals, as HBO is owned by Warner Brothers Discovery, not Sky. Sky Originals is typically content either produced by Sky Studios are perhaps produced for Comcast's US streaming platform Peacock.

Yes, the majority of the Sky Atlantic Content was exclusive HBO shows, but WDB has always wanted to launch HBO Max in the UK, but had been unable to up til this point due to the long-term exclusivity deal with Sky, so as of today, Sky Atlantic is really no longer a premium Sky channel.

What is almost certainly isn't is fruad, its just the content owner taking the rights of their own programming back to point on their own streaming app.

As of launch today, I believe Sky is the only partner that WDB have that is bundling an HBO Max subscription into a package at no additional cost.

Re: HBO MAX

Okay, fair enough, but I still think it's disingenuous to promote HBO Max as if its offering new shows and that there's no additional cost when, in fact, prior to this launch, the vast majority of these shows were available in 4k if applicable without an additional cost outside the normal package and UHD add on. And it's not like with Disney+ where I already had it and Sky's partnership has actually helped me. Instead they've taken away shows I already had and are charging me £10 extra a month for it. Not to mention the Sky Ultimate cost feels inflated now they've cut out these shows.

But HBO Max does have new shows. There are a bunch of HBO Max Originals shows which haven't been broadcast on any other UK service, for example The Pitt and the new Harry Potter TV series which is meant to be starting towards the end of the year.

And in addition, its outside of Sky's hands as they no longer own the content. But the compromise is via Sky you get the upgraded tiers for £5 less than the advertised HBO Max pricing. Sky can't do anything if like with Disney + , HBO Max choose to put UHD and Dolby Atmos versions behind the most expensive tier.

For some reason, I can't figure out how to properly add my screenshot.

It says, "We can't do that at the moment. We hope to have everything back to normal soon. Please try again later"

HBO Max - Get Acess

Why am i being shown the Get Access button?

When i click it, it asks me to go to my sky account, which i did, and nothing happened. HBO max shows up as included in my package but i can't watch some movies or series.

What a waste of time.

Does anyone else have this issue?
