Is Sky not offering the Standard with Ads tier of HBO Max? If you go direct there are 4 tiers on offer... Basic with ads (£4.99/Free with Sky) Standard with ads (£5.99/should be +£1) Standard (£9.99/+£5) Premium (£14.99/+£10) The second tier doesn't seem to be being offered via Sky which is ridiculous as I can imagine it would be the most popular. I'd rather not pay an extra fiver for yet another streaming service but a pound to get the full catalogue seems a no-brainer. I'm sure I remember seeing online that it would be available. Is this a glitch, an oversight or are we not going to be able to get this through Sky?

No - the Standard with ads £5.99 isn't currently available through Sky

So which tier is tnt sports on HBO?

Its not on a tier. There is an additional add-on subscription that you can get for TNT Sports, which can be used without any other HBO max tier, and can be added to any of the Max Entertainment plans

Up until last week I had access to watch TNT Sports via the Discovery app. In fact I watched Man City Vs Real Madrid on Tuesday night. The night after I attempted to watch the Newcastle game and I couldn't access the program. I was getting the option to GET ACCESS like I had to subscribe. I've had access to watch TNT via the discovery app for years. I've been watching football and UFC since I had Sky Stream.

I called Sky today to try and get help. I ended up speaking to what sounded like a very old lady bless her. She was lively but wasn't the best technical support. She told me she didn't know how I've been watching TNT as you have to subscribe. I definitely haven't been paying £31 a month. It's always been free as part of Discovery+

Anyone got any idea what's changed for me? Was TNT Sport free through the discovery app and should it now be free with HBO MAX?

Also, I get the same message on HBO Max if I try watch a film. I understand there are different paid tiers of HBO and some movies aren't included but with Discovery+ there are no ways to upgrade tiers.

I hope all this makes sense and would love for someone to have information to help.

many thanks in advance

TNT Sports isn't free, and wasn't free with Discovery +. TNT Sports was part of the Premium tier on Discovery +. ( which if you paid Sky for TNT Sports you were automatically upgraded to).

Today TNT sports moved from Discovery + to HBO Max, but how you access the TNT Sports content on HBO Max will depend on who you were paying for TNT Sports previously.

TNT Sport has never been free with Discovery+. If you weren't paying Sky or Discovery direct, maybe you were getting it free via some 3rd party? I believe EE offer it and possibly one of the banks (could be Lloyds) bundle it into their packages.

Just signed up to Basic With Ads via my Sky Stream box, using existing Sky related name & email address. Went through absolutely fine. Set up Scooby Doo as my profile picture (yay!) but no Scooby Doo, Where Are You? on HBO Max itself (boo!).

The same activation pulled through to our Sky Glass gen 1 TV fine as well. Next was signing in on my iPad and two Apple TV 4K boxes. The first prompted the creation of a password after receiving the usual 6 digit code via email, with subsequent logins done via on screen QR codes.

All pretty seamless and streaming the new Harry Potter was smooth and without judder. Next will be to go up to the Premium tier on MySky and to start exploring properly. Most of the catalogue films we'd want to watch on the service we already own either digitally or on disc but I'm sure there will be plenty to discover and watch. (Not sports viewers so can't pass comment on the sports tier migration from TNT etc).

How did you stream the new Harry Potter series, its not out yet? @CoffeeDrinker

Guess who forgot to type the word 'trailer' and then didn't proof read before pressing enter 😁 The new trailer was the first thing on the landing page after activating the service.

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

Sorry if this is a daft question.

I have Sky Stream/Glass and was paying the £31/month for TNT.

On the HBO Max website, they have saver plans where it looks like you can get premium HBO Max tier+TNT, all in 4K for £36/month.

If I used my own HBO max subscription, would it work on my Sky devices?

HBO max doesn't show up my SKY TNT subscription

Hi

I subscribe to TNT thorugh SKY, and it's still available to watch through Discovery+ app, temporarily I guess.

I used the link in the sky guide on the TV to setup HBO max, and all seemed ok using the discovery+ login details.

However in HBO max on the TV (and the app) it says "Get access" to all TNT content and points me to adding it to my subscription which I already have !

Online help is not really helpful and has pointed me here, so was wondering if anyone has any tips.

Unless I've missed something when signing up, I've had to create a seperate account with Sky and upgrade to the premium tier for £10.  Because I pay EE for TNT sports I signed in with my existing discovery + credentials to get TNT sports on HBO max but can't access the non sport content unless I subscribe through HBO since my discovery + was activated through BT/EE.

Ironically, I've logged into the TNT sport 4K EE sub on my Sky Stream and login to the premium HBO sub on my Apple TV.

Hope this helps people in the same situation.

Hi @CoffeeDrinker  I have Scoobie as my profile picture so I know it works.  Did you select "done" at the bottom of your profile page after you selected it?

You can still get it by going to your profile name on the HBO homepage and selecting edit.

@Dazzasky and @CoffeeDrinker  I watched the trailer as a test for HBO after after activation.  I had to laugh at the "Coming soon" tag as when you watch the trailer it says it is coming out Christmas 2026 which is hardly soon.

The original projected launch date for the new HBO Potter series was 2927, so the 'Coming Soon' might be better read as 'Coming Soon(er than first advertised)' 🙂
