@Jones_The_Cat

You said "Everything else I want from a TV service I get from the Apple TV 4K box."

I've said in another thread that I've had problems "recording" shows on SkySports news and skipping back to the start. Is that possible on Apple TV without the premium sports package?

I don't watch sport I'm afraid so can't offer any advice on this. We're a movie, drama series & documentary kind of household. I've never subscribed to any sports service. It seems to be where Sky make all their money judging by the amount they charge for it.

Re: Feedback on sky stream

I think fair points you make. I think seamless is certainly what they are trying to achieve, but has a long way to go. I'm not sure it will ever actually be possible because every app has its own quirks, behaviours and user accounts.  I came from virgin, certainly that is quirky, but in many respects more seemless because it all operates the same way, regardless of service, their data quality is also far better.

the picture quality on sky stream is truly brilliant though, far better than virgin.

Re: Feedback on sky stream

I've been using Sky Stream for a year now and, on the whole, it's been a fairly positive experience.

I'm hooked up via ethernet to a very solid Three Mobile Broadband connection delivering high speeds, and generally the streams have been flawless.

I'm not a live streamer, very much a playlister - mainly sports (cricket, football) and a regular user of YouTube, Amazon Prime and iPlayer.

My biggest frustrations relate mainly to the playlist and in particular TNT Sports and their bizarre approach to making series links available to view.

Take the current Test Match series in India at the moment. 'Series added' it says - let's face it, who is really getting up at 4am in the morning ?

By the time I come to watch the day's play (long after the live broadcast has finished) it's nowhere to be seen in the Playlist.

Go into Discovery+ - despite having TNT Sports, it only recognises me as a standard account holder. Okay, no worries, I only have time to watch the edited highlights. That's on for an hour in the evenings - 'series added' it says....I'll watch it before I go to bed.

No I won't because.....it's nowhere to be seen in the Playlist - it usually appears 24 hours later, when there's been another day's play.

Same thing happens with the Saturday lunchtime football. The only way round it, I've found, is to catch the stream live and watch from start (doing it at the minute with Everton vs Spurs, did it last night for the Test Match highlights).

Even the Sky Sports playlists have random hiccups from time to time - sometimes the lists are in reverse date order (oldest first), sometimes the right way round. Sometimes weeks of content disappears, then magically reappears for no reason. It seems they haven't quite nailed that aspect of it yet.

It needs to be more seamless, because at the moment the playlist (for me) is the biggest thing letting this product down.

Occasionally (usually on UHD feeds) I get sound and picture dropouts lasting a few seconds at a time - the only way to stop this is to power cycle the puck, then it's fine.

On the whole, however, it works 'passably' - it's an improvement on the Virgin TV service I had previously. I have another 6 months of my contract to run, so we'll see how it goes and review it again then.

Re: Feedback on sky stream

Doesnt look as if I will go to skystream anytime soon even when I eventually move house. Why give a so much inferior product as the alternative to Q
