I have just received and set up our new sky stream equipment however the remote is working intermittently. Please advise

Unlike the reliable Sky Q remotes the Glass/Stream remotes are always causing issues As an initial step I would reboot your stream just in case there is a minor software glitch. To do this simply switch it off at the plug socket for a minute before switching it on again. I will take about a minute to reboot.
Then, if necessary, try clearing the remote and pairing it again as follows:
If the remote is still playing up work your way through the following remote troubleshooting guides: Troubleshooting guide and Remote help
If none of the above has helped then I would request a replacement at the following link: Streaming TV replacement remote
If you have one available you can use a Sky Q remote while you wait for a replacement.
