I have had the system for 4 days now, we pay for ad-skipping, and we have yet to see a so-called 'Ad skipping' box come up during advert breaks

A 'Skip ads' banner will only appear on Sky's own on demand content.
Anything viewed via ITVX, Channel 4, Five, U, etc requires you to fast forward using the remote.
You obviously cannot skip ads on any live channel streams.

Re: Fast forward freezing.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I realise that, but we still have not had any ad skipping come up even on SKY content programmes. But whenever we try to fast forward it stops pretty much 99% of the time and freezes. We've reset the box two or three times (and the router too) we have excellent speed of 500 Mbs.

Yeah, it was always glitchy for me too. It was part of the reason I got rid of Sky Stream.

I prefer to pay for NOW with Ultra Boost and Channel 4+ to remove ads completely from the programmes we watch.

Re: Fast forward freezing.

I am having the exaxt same problem.

Coming from a Sky+ box to SKY Stream is so far the worse mistake we've made.

Awfull system with so many glitches. So many people on here with the SAME problem and SKY seem to bury their heads in the sand and treat us like idiots.

I hear there is a new software update coming through to stop the PUC going into Eco mode. We have the TV on for us during the day while we are working and was a surprise to us that it just stopped and went to a black screen even after turning the timer off. We used to leave the SKY box on for our dogs to distract them from outside noises when we went out. Now, having to faff around switching to TV mode to do it.

You can ask to switch to Sky Q if you call Sky. This will give you a satellite recording box, similar to what you had with Sky+, but will likely cost a bit more than Stream. It's definitely the more stable system though and will be around for a few more years.

Re: Fast forward freezing.

We were told that they are phasing SkyQ out and no longer offereing that as an option, but perhaps I will press the point home.

Thanks
