Fast forward freezing.

When I've paused a programme on live TV and I return to it and want to skip forward through any ad breaks, the fast forward function keeps freezing and jumping backwards! I have ad skip on my Sky account. I use Sky stream with a puck. Hope this makes sense, it's a bit difficult to explain, but it is very frustrating!

@BooMom   Does this happen even if you only pause for a minute or two, or is when you have paused and come out of that program and then gone back and selected Countinue Watching?

Re: Fast forward freezing.

Hi Stephen+Mourton

Thank you for your reply, I'll try to explain it a little more clearly.

If I pause a programme on live TV, for any length of time, when I try to fast forward through any ad breaks the programme fast forwards for 1 minute. Then, the on screen image freezes and the FF jumps backwards by 1 minute. This happens 4 or 5 times, then it will FF by another 1 minute, before the on screen image freezes again and it jumps back by 1 minute again & again. This occurs over & over until I eventually get through the break & continue watching as normal. I don't tend to come out of a programme, then continue watching.

I've tried turning my puck off at the plug & turning it back on again, which hasn't worked

Re: Fast forward freezing.

@BooMom   Thanks for the further clarification.  I must confess not coming across this particular problem, and the absence of other comments from forum members may indicate that you contact Sky and request a replacement.  However before you do can you confirm if your router is connected to your puck via an Ethernet cable?  If not where is your router positioned.  Does it have a clear line of sight to the puck, if not trying moving it so it does, but not near a window or mirror and neither the puck or the router has anything touching it if so move them a few inches away.   See if that helps if not as mentioned contact Sky.  I hope that helps.

Re: Fast forward freezing.

@Stephen+Mourton

Thanks again for your reply. My puck is not connected to my router via ethernet cable. While there is no clear line of site between the 2, they are only a few feet apart. Both have been positioned as such since I switched to Sky stream & broadband 18 monthe ago, and have worked fine until this issue arose about 6 weeks ago. I have no other issues with my set-up apart from this, & it only happens when watching live TV. Ad skipping & fast forward work perfectly fine when streaming. Perhaps my next port of call will be to contact Sky, as you suggested.

Thank you for your input, I appreciate you taking the time to try and help. 🙂
