Re: Error code 7998
This doesn't sound like a Talk (landline) issue. On which device are you seeing this?

And which TV box do you have? Sky+HD, Sky Q or Sky Stream/Glass
43" Glass TV & Puck Whole Home
Please note I only provide help on the main forums and not via PM, PM's are switched off.
Samsung 75" 4K TV, Sky Glass Gen 2 55", Sky Stream, EE FTTC Broadband, Three 5G Broadband (Backup), Sony 7.1 AV Receiver, Technisat MultiSat receiver.

The Sky TV error code 7998 typically occurs on a Sky Stream puck after a reset or when there is a problem with the network configuration. This error indicates that the device is having trouble connecting to Sky's servers or completing the initial setup.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Reset the Network Settings:
- Press and hold the '4' and '6' buttons simultaneously on your Sky remote.
- Navigate to the network setup page that appears.
- Scroll across and select 'Continue'.
- This will lead you to a network setup page, distinct from the usual initial setup interface.
Perform a System Update:
- Once in the network setup page, the system should prompt you to perform a system update.
- Proceed with the update, which may address issues like being unable to access certain services or apps.
If these steps do not resolve the error, consider performing a factory reset of your Sky Stream puck:
- Factory Reset:
- Press and hold the power button on the puck until it flashes orange and then turns green.
- Release the power button and allow the puck to restart.
After the reset, you may need to reconfigure your network settings and perform any necessary system updates.
