Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Having stuck with the puck for a number of months I've finally given up and reverted to Sky Q. We had a month of relatively few drops which, when they happened, Dolby Atmos popped up on the top right of the screen. However, everything started going south again starting with black screens and then more sound drops. Refreshed the puck and then factory reset the puck and nothing worked. Even the Sky support didn't argue. I hate going backwards but, if this happens with the Q box Sky will be gone!

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Has any progress been made on this at all please?

I've just bought a brand new LG G4 TV. Excellent picture quality and a G1 sound to boot. Absolutely ruined by Stream.

Please help.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

I also bought a LG TV and Sonos sound bar and have had on going issues since last October. The puck picture is great but as you say ruined by sound drop and, in my case, black screen issues. I thought it was all fixed for a month or so but, then it started again! Nightmare and, we are expecting the Q box tomorrow and will be returning the puck (the 4th return by the way!) My wife has hated the whole Sky puck experience. Sorry that I can't be more positive but, it's been pretty crap throughout...

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Does anyone get this issue.... ?

I have been watching various things and they have been in Dolby Atomos.

Everything has been perfect.

Often when I turn off the Stream and go back it will only output in 5.1.

The fix seems to be finding some other content and force the system to push Dolby Atomos. Then when that works if I go back to the original content it works and is in Dolby Atomos.

The stream seems to struggle to remember how to output audio 😂

Update

7/04/25.

LG G4 and LG G1 soundbar. Sky Stream.

I've bought some brand new cables today. HDMI 2.1 certified cabling. Absolutely no change at all. 3 drop outs in 10 minutes on Netflix Drive to Survive - Atmos/Vision. Also dropping out on BBC One HD. No dropouts on PS5. No drop outs with Netflix/Disney+/Prime Video on the TV's native apps.

Beyond frustrating. Would really, really appreciate answers, updates and fixes.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

How is your stream connecting?

I did a restart this morning and I have zero issues.

Currently got the football on and it's reporting Dolby Atomos. 👍

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Is your stream WiFi or have you got it connected via a network cable ?

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

How are you measuring your drop outs ?

Are they clear or are you focusing on them ?

I have the football on and I have never had an audio dropout.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

@Scrumpet check that the HDMI cable running from the eARC port is HDMI 2.1 or at the very least 2.0 otherwise you'll run into bandwidth issues which will cause dropouts.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

Sky Stream connected via WiFi. Brand new cerified 2.1 cables installed today. Dropouts are either a clear cut out in sound lasting around half a second or a sound drop out plus a black screen.

Re: Dolby Atmos audio drop out

On the LG the eARC is HDMI 2, soundbar connected to that. TV into HDMI 1. Also tried port 4, no difference. PS5 connected to 3, all fine. No drops with that at all.
