Changing a broadband hub doesn't affect recordings on Sky+ or Sky Q.

Sky Stream and Sky Glass do not record but do have playlists - a list of tagged shows you want to watch a later date. These playlists are not affected by a change in broadband hub.

If you are changing from Sky+ to Sky Q then yes, you will lose all recordings on the Sky+ box. If you are swapping a faulty Sky Q box for a new Sky Q box then you will also lose recordings because they are stored on the hard drive of the failed box.

@AL122 if by hub, you mean your Sky Stream Puck, no you don't lose your Playlist ('recordings')

No. Everything is held on the sky server.
Once you fire up the new puck and authenticate it, everything should be there.

I changed my puck (sky charged me £50) as my playlist was stuck in early 2025 and never updates the episodes watched.

New puck does exactly the same thing.

Only been nine months with this issue, sky say 'known issue' and just put my subs up, rather than fixing the problem.

I don't work for sky, receive any gratuities or discounts. They do however pay me in badges 🐵
