Continue Watching

When are Sky going to sort out continue watching ?   Just because I've watched one episode of Traffic Cops (for example) and it's not even in my playlist I don't want it to keep appearing in the playlist. I fast forward to get rid of it then a week later the next episode appears when again it's not in my playlist. An option for quick delete from continue watch would be most welcome.

Apart from that I'm pretty happy with Stream 😀

That's been one of the most requested features since the platform was released.

i believe it's not a simple thing to do due to the way the CW rail works by pulling in the info from a bunch of third party apps like Netflix, iplayer, , paramount + etc. although it would be a nice step if it was possible to at least do this for Skys own on-demand content.

hopefully one day we will get this ability.

Heres hoping something will happen at some point in the future.

Thanks again for taking time to reply.

@F60Mini  This is definitely by biggest gripe with the streaming platform and I have brought it up on here as well as the  Superusers board a number of times.   Removing unwatched items from an Apple TV is a breeze but unfortunately as @MarkGoldsmith says it is not so  straightforward on the Sky streaming platform.

A little over 2 years ago I made myself a list of how to remove items but TBH it may be a bit out of date not but I will copy and paste it below for reference in the hope that it will help you (and others).

Depending on the App you watched from there are so many different ways to remove programmes from CW. Some you have to do on your TV and others on your Laptop etc.

Do on Glass TV:

Apple TV - select from Up Next list with a LONG press / remove

Netflix - Select from CW / remove from CW on next page (it doesn't drop off the CW rail immediately)

Sky, Discovery, ITVX & Disney - run programme to credits and allow to run to the end.  If a series do the same with the final episode of the series.

My5 - Go to settings and select Clear Watch History

Do on laptop:

BBC iPlayer  - CW / Manage full list (on right of screen) / remove

Ch4 / CW - go to My4 > / edit / select then remove

Paramount - Hover over programme and untick

Prime - Go to CW rail and hover over programme for another menu select 3 dots & then hide (you can’t actually  delete)

Sometimes it can take a while for the programme to disappear (Netflix is a good example) and on other occasions they stubbornly remain. It's a bit of a lottery.

If I am unable to remove an item using the above the only option is just to leave it and  It will slowly make its way to the end of the continue watching rail and drop off the end if you have more than 20 items in the rail.  If you have less than 20 items it will stay on the rail for about 2 months and then simply disappear.

Good luck, I hope this helps 🤞

Re: Continue Watching

@Fothergill1

Many thanks for taking the time to respond to my query. You would think after a couple of years and others mentioning this issue that Sky would have been able to come up with a solution.

I will give your suggestions a try and again appreciate @MarkGoldsmith and yourself taking the time to help.

Regards,

Dave

@Jporch316  Only because it annoys me so much 🤣 but I've now decided not to worry about it anymore.  TBH I use my Apple TV puck a lot more these days as I know I can remove programmes I no longer want to continue watching.
