I'm trying watch on demand content on my sky stream but a message always appears on screen saying I have to upgrade in order to watch it. I've contacted sky and basically told me to switch everything off and on again but that does not work. I think I want to cancel my subscription as I'm paying for something that doesn't work.

Yeah, it's buggy unfortunately. If a reboot doesn't fix it then just cancel the lot. They'll hopefully get it working better eventually.

On demand hasn't been working for weeks now and after reporting it sky does sweet FA about it. Either fix it or cancel my subscription which I've held for nearly 5 years!

SKY JUST DONT REACT TO ANY ISSUES RAISED, EVEN ISSUES THAT GO BACK YEARS REGARDS SOME COMPLAINTS. I AM A PAYING SUBSCRIBER AND DEMAND BETTER. I CANT "BELIEVE IN BETTER" UNTIL SKY TRY TO FIX THESE ANCIENT PROBLEMS.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@charlie62 you have posted in a thread discussing Sky Stream and Glass which launched in 2021 are you getting confused with Sky Q? The two are completly separate systems and this specific fault is relatively recent but the error message has been seen before but with a different issue.
Agree customers should not have to deal with faults in the first place but Sky do fix them as they arise but it often takes a while to pin down the cause, find and test a solution and then include it in a firmware update. The monthly update cycle Stream uses is faster than the Q update system.

Step into Sky with one foot forward and two steps backwards. 🙄
Most of these issues I read have been happening for months and months, firmware updates may tweak a problem but invariably another problem arises.
Either put up with the ongoing issues you are paying for or move on and perhaps revisit in a couple of years.
There are alternatives in the market!
