I guess that could just lead to the usual set of 'contact us' information.

The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act which just made it into law before Parliament was dissolved does say companies will have to make it possible to cancel subscriptions online which were obtained that way.

Consumers can cancel a subscription by giving a “clear statement” of their intention to terminate and without having to take any steps which are not reasonably necessary for ending subscription.

Examples of unreasonable steps include having to phone the business to cancel where the consumer signed up online.

That's been like that since Stream launched - I remember seeing it on the MySky app back in October 2022. It doesn't let you fully cancel Entertainment/Netflix - it gives you the phone number to call instead, at least it did when I clicked on it.

I did suspect that was the case: Sky will presumably have to comply with the DMCCA I mentioned above at some point, but at the moment I don't think there's any timescale for provider implementation or mention of any enforcement mechanism: that's all for the CMA (and possibly Ofcom) to establish.

When I cancelled I tried to do it first using the online chat facility but they said they couldn't process Stream cancellations, only Q. They said they could arrange a callback though so I that's what happened - someone from retentions rang me the next day at the time I requested, offered no discounts or reasons to stay and offered to stop the service immediately or in 31 days time.

Re: Cancel sky stream via mysky

There is definitely some website changes.

Its a bit backwards but you can now move to Stream from Q online.

You have to go through the Sky Glass order - once you have put in the account number verification, you can select Sky Stream from the top left option and proceed from there.

Gives a warning about losing Q discounts, recordings etc and only offers 18 month pricing but is definitely not something that has appeared before for me.
