BBC do you have to use I player to watch saved program

@Victor51  Anything from the BBC needs iPlayer to access, that is what they want (the BBC)

We are all fellow customers on here like yourself 

Any programmes  saved on your play  list with  bbc will take you  to  the  player to watch them the same with itv, channels 4 & 5. When you  save them to your play list it is not recorded

As mentioned above.

Anything added to your playlist for BBC content, will only launch and play in iPlayer.

Also, when you use watch from start for any BBC channels, that will also launch in iPlayer.

Some selected ITV and C5 content does play out as On demand using Sky Stream/Glass trickplay (Sky Stream/Glass own play/pause/ff/rew), rather than the ITV/C5 apps.

ITV, C4 and C5 all do play out watch from start using the Sky Stream/Glass trickplay and not via their apps.

You'd need to switch to using a device which records a broadcast instead. There are smart TV's with Freeview tuners which allow recording onto USB flash drives, and several Freeview PVRs which record onto a hard drive. These obviously need an aerial.
You can also still switch to Sky Q, the satellite service which records onto hard drive. 
The only real benefit of being able to record a BBC show from a broadcast is the availability of 5.1 audio. The live streams and broadcasts of BBC channels carry 5.1 audio on drama series and movies. The iPlayer streams only carry stereo audio.

And that benefit cannot be understated.

It's still gobsmacking that iPlayer only supports stereo sound.
