Re: Audio dropouts
@purpleparrotuk I'll have a look when I get home but I'm pretty sure I am because I'm going Pass-Through back from the TV to Soundbar via eARC

Re: Audio dropouts
@purpleparrotuk I've just checked and it's showing 5.1 only.... I'll start hunting for an answer to that one.

Re: Audio dropouts
@purpleparrotuk it seems to be how Netflix uses the Digital Dolby Plus codec. So, it will either use it to output 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby sound but not Atmos whereas Disney+ etc happily use the same Codec for Atmos output...
I just double checked this on Mufusa on Disney+ and it happily outputs UHD HDR10 with Atmos... Displays Atmos logo on screen and my Soundbar kicks over to Atmos...

Re: Audio dropouts
So, the 5.1 via Digital Dolby Plus is definitely a Netflix thing and seems to just be a setting that needs to be changed. I've changed it via my Netflix account but I can't check it just yet as we're watching something. As soon as this episode has finished, I'll jump onto Netflix and double check .

Re: Audio dropouts
After a bit of digging, Stream does require a the audio output to be set to Pass-Through on the puck for Atmos on Netflix but no other apps do so it's definitely a Netflix thing but then this reintroduces the dreaded audio dropouts.

Re: Audio dropouts
@Nigelb1972 thanks for the replies. I tried different ways to get Atmos through Netflix this afternoon and it was indeed only 5.1. Very strange it's the only app on the Stream that doesn't allow this. Will keep it on DD+ for now and see how I get on with the dropouts since I haven't tried it out yet.

Re: Audio dropouts
@purpleparrotuk Netflix audio and video is highly compressed anyway so it's extremely unlikely you'll be getting anywhere near the full uncompressed Atmos sound anyway....

Re: Audio dropouts
I am still getting sound drops in Atmos using Dolby Digital plus. This is on Sky Movies 🙁

Re: Audio dropouts
@purpleparrotuk how are you connected? Are you using arc or eArc? If you are, check the HDMI cable that is running from your TV to audio device is HDMI 2.1 .
