Re: Audio dropouts

@ScottG13 the only sync issues I've had have been on live sports and I've put that down to a broadcast issue because they've resolved themselves when they cut back to the studio or adverts...

Re: Audio dropouts

Thanks for this tip can you confirm that you still get Atmos sound when using the Netflix app as my setup doesn't however seems fine with all other apps and Sky content offering Atmos

Re: Audio dropouts

@Astongooner yep everything kicks in to Atmos when it's available.

Re: Audio dropouts

@Nigelb1972 thanks for the quick reply it must be my setup then as on dd+ the option for Atmos sound disappears in the information screen on Netflix what was described as Dolby Vision & Atmos becomes Dolby Vision and 5.1.

I may stick to this setting anyway as the sound dropouts in Atmos are pretty annoying.

Re: Audio dropouts

So, my set-up is HDMI 2.1 from puck to TV and eARC via HDMI 2.1 to soundbar.

I have the puck set Digital Dolby Plus and my TC set to Pass through...

Re: Audio dropouts

@Nigelb1972Well this is strange.  My main puck is connected to my Denon amp and then that connected to my LG tv.

but I have just changed the output on another puck to DD+ which is directly connected to another LG tv and that then stops just Netflix from outputting Atmos again it stops it showing as available on shows I know to have Atmos soundtracks.  Other apps and Sky still output Atmos.

Maybe it's an LG thing?

Re: Audio dropouts

Yes I have an LG TV and this happens to me as well.

Live Sport, Sky Cinema etc as well as Disney Plus all input Dolby Atoms whilst watching through Sky Stream.

However, Netflix says 5.1 whilst watching via Sky.

Maybe it is an LG thing right enough.

Re: Audio dropouts

@Astongooner @ScottG13 definitely sounds like an LG thing. We've got a Samsung QLED and it works like a charm.

There's probably a setting you need to tinker with so it might be worthwhile heading over to the LG forums to see if there's an answer.

Re: Audio dropouts

I've tried these settings on my puck using my Sony AF9 and like others above I no longer get the Atmos option in Netflix. My puck is going through a Denon AVR. Sky movies Atmos works fine and if I switch the puck to passthrough then Atmos works fine.  Any ideas?

Re: Audio dropouts

Is it just Netflix you've lost Atmos on?

Re: Audio dropouts

@Nigelb1972  Yes just Netflix. I guess it's a Sony thing like LG. Will just have to watch Netflix on something else.

Re: Audio dropouts

Is anyone else getting Atmos in Netflix using Dolby Digital Plus? From what I have read on past posts you can't get Atmos through Dolby Digital plus on Netflix and it needs to be set to passthrough to get Atmos

Re: Audio dropouts

@Nigelb1972 what do you mean when you say you are connected by earc? I've read Stream doesn't need earc and arc is fine. How is your setup connected if your Netflix works with Atmos? Is your Stream connected straight to your tv? Do you use an AVR receiver?

Re: Audio dropouts

eARC is a newer version of ARC and has more bandwidth available.

My puck is connected via HDMI to the TV and then audio goes out via eARC from the TV or our Sony soundbar. All cables are HDMI 2.1.

Audio output on the Puck is set to Digital Dolby Plus and audio output on the TV is Pass-Through.

Re: Audio dropouts

@Nigelb1972 can you 100% confirm you are seeing the words Atmos next to the Netflix shows? I have read it's not possible using DD+ through Netflix and has to be set to passthrough.
