Hi,
I'm a current Sky Stream user, and just wondered why I can't see my content that I own in the Apple TV app?
I own various movies in iTunes which I can view in other Apple TV apps (on Fire Stick or my TV's own app), but not in the Sky Stream Apple TV app?
Is there a reason for this?
Thanks,
Stew

Yes, because there are 2 versions of the app available and the one via Sky does not include your library.
This is the case on many platforms, only a few have the version that includes Apple purchases and only an Apple TV 4K gives the complete purchase experience.

Ah, that sucks. Guess I'll keep my Firestick hooked up.

If I remember correctly, you cannot access purchases made via YouTube either.

There aren't two versions🤔
There are two completely separate apps ... The Apple TV app and the Apple TV+ app ... The Apple TV+ app gives access to Apple's streaming service Apple TV+😉
That gives platform providers like Sky the option to limit competion. Sky needs to vastly improve the Sky Store, app then there'd be no need not to carry the Apple TV app😟
Apple wanted their streaming service on other platforms so created the Apple TV+ app😉

This shouldn't annoy me, but it has. 🤣
There are 2 versions of the Apple TV app.
Both deliver the Apple TV+ service and access to the MLS coverage.
Version 1 includes access to your personal library and purchases, version 2 does not apart from on a couple of platforms.
Version 1 includes the ability to add further subscriptions or 'channels', version 2 does not.
Version 1 includes the ability to track your viewing across multiple apps such as BBC iPlayer, itvX and NOW, version 2 does not.
Sky use version 2 on their platform, as does EE.

There is a Apple TV+ app for access to Apple's streaming service😉
There is also a Apple TV app which can access more than just Apple's streaming service usually supplied to Smart TV🤔
Apple have TWO completely separate apps because some platforms only want access to the Apple streaming service Apple TV+, because those platforms want to prevent access to Apple Store🙂
