Anyone else getting frequent drop outs on Amazon prime Liverpool inter
Per the title
frequent drop outs to black screen every couple of minutes - going to switch to pc at half time as never had this problem before trying the puck
this is only my 2nd time using since getting , first was trying to watch Liverpool Leeds at the weekend which was equally awful
puck is going back soon awful experience
sky supposed to call me to and never did (regards issue where I am supposed to have cinema but it isn't working )
will update in 2nd half when using laptop to confirm if issue is the puck or Amazon prime
my internet is fine speed 300 at the box

20mins into 2nd half watching on the laptop in exact same location as the puck plugged into the same tv
no drops outs so far
conclusion ; sky stream is rubbish. It will be going back

Re: Anyone else getting frequent drop outs on Amazon prime Liverpool inter
What router are you using? Your own or the one provided by your ISP.
I've had my puck for exactly a week. If I use the router provided by my ISP I get audio dropouts, struggle to fast forward adverts, loads of "please wait" screens.
If I use the Gli-Net Flint 3 router that I bought myself I get absolutely no issues at all. I have watched the whole Liverpool match so far and it has been fine - no dropouts or anything.
If I go into Netflix Help it shows a speed of 420Mbps. I am on 900Mbps but obviously 420Mbps is fine.

Netflix speed test is 300
sky stream is not fit for purpose

Obviously I haven't had it for very long, but it does seem that the puck is like a "thin client". There doesn't seem to be any processing on it at all, everything is coming from the Sky servers and you need a good quality router that can provide a very fast ping.
I wouldn't be happy in your situation either as Amazon on firesticks are fine with my ISP router, it's just the puck that seems to struggle.

You may also find some of the default settings applied on ISP provided routers do indeed cause an issue.
The Sky streaming platform is indeed more like a thin client, so is very different from "other" devices like laptops and phones.
