Adskip stopped working on Paramount+

Hi,

For some reason Adskip has stopped working on Paramount+, having worked perfectly well previously.

We've refreshed the apps on the puck, restarted the puck, checked that adskip is still active, signed in and out of Paramount+, etc. but nothing seems to fix it.

Sky customer services can't explain why it's happening.

Adskip still works perfectly everywhere else.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this, please?

@there was a recent change to paramount plus subscription tiers. The new basic subscription now includes adverts which unfortunately you are unable to skip

" Sky Cinema customers are going to be moved to the Paramount + Basic (with ads) plan from 21 January. You might notice this change on your account from 16 January. "

The Sky Ad Skipping subscription supplement does not apply to Paramount+

 

Unfortunately Paramount+ through Sky Cinema does not currently have an option to upgrade Basic (with ads) to either the Standard advert-free tier or the Premium 4K, UHD, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos version.

Thanks for the explanation.

 

And presumably the one that comes bundled with Sky is just the basic subscription? 

 

The Sky person I spoke to at customer services a couple of days ago didn't seem to know that this might have been a factor.

We're watching The Agency and it was still skipping ads last night - might be a phased rollout?

It's the same for us. The Agency seems to be the only show that still skips ads.

We only noticed adskip had gone when we went back to a different show.

If you like The Agency - keep an eye out for Black Bag, due in cinemas around March time 😉

TO ANYONE FROM SKY LOOKING AT THIS

I appreciate that this topic has been the subject of an extensive thread elsewhere, but if anyone from SKY is monitoring this thread, please could I ask you to organise a solution that refelcts the fact that those of us that are paying for adskip, which covered Paramount+, are now NOT GETTING WHAT WE PAID FOR as a result of the combined actions of Sky and Paramount+.

A simple observation, but if Paramount+ does offer a package that includes Adskip, why weren't the Sky customers that were already paying for that functionaliuty transferred over to that package, with those customers that weren't paying for it migrated over to the package that doesn't include adskip?

At the moment, this is sub-optimal customer care from Sky, to put it mildly.....

@MCF888 Ad skipping has never applied to Paramount +, it's always only need Skys in-demand content, ITV X, C4 and My5 apps. 

The reason you are seeing ads on Paramount + is because Paramount have recently introduced ads on their non-premium tier.

 

At the end of the day adding more services to ad-skipping would likely require a rise in the cost of the ad-skipping pack as extra money would need to be provided to the owners of any new services that were included ( in this case paramount).

Sorry to disagree with you, but adskip did apply to all Paramount+ shows until only a few days ago.

We had watched a number of shows on this basis and initially thought there was a fault on the service when we suddenly started getting ads we couldn't skip part way through Landman.

I stand by my previous comments.

Sky could do the right thing if they wanted to. At the monent, it seems like they don't.

@MCF888  I'm afraid @MarkGoldsmith is correct the link below lists all the apps Skys ad skip feature applies to and unfortunately paramount plus isn't one of them
