It's the same with Netflix and prime ..... you can't skip those ads on the basic tier hopefully in the future sky will be able to offer a payment option for paramount for the ad free tiers

Mark39,

Agreed. What I was trying to suggest is that Sky could sort it out if they agreed a solution with Paramount+.

My own recent interaction with Sky Customer services is what lead me to say that they seem to have no interest in doing that at the moment.

In fairness I think it's highly unlikely that the front line advisers would have much idea about any discussions that might be happening 'behind the scenes'. Of course, Paramount may not want an ad skipping solution with Sky, preferring instead that customers signed up directly.

Re: Adskip stopped working on Paramount+

SKY1992f,

I'm not sure I read the linked page in the same way you do.

Paramount+ was bundled as part of Sky Cinema for us (back in the SKY+ days) and has continued to be so since our migration to Sky Stream. Although the position is confused by the fact that you can now access it direct via an app.

I see it as something that can be accessed through the "Playlist" or "On demand" as per your linked page.

I don't see Paramount+ included in the list of "Other TV apps, like Netflix, YouTube or Spotify" on that page.

The functionality of adskip is a shambles: sometimes there's a skip ads button, sometimes you have to press the right side of the circle on the remote, sometimes it jumps on its own, sometimes the screen just goes blank and jumps to the next section of the programme. We often have different things happen during different adbreaks of the same programme.

It's against this background that I was making my point about Paramount+ and adskip: in the past we've had obvious jumps in shows where there will have been ads, but haven't had to watch them. I had no knowledge of what Sky may or may not have agreed with Paramount in terms of how this feature was delivered.

Until ads appeared that couldn't be skipped.

This was a change put in place by, between them, Sky and Paramount+, for whatever reason.

All I was trying to say is that if you're paying for adskip -  which is what we seemed to be receiving from, inter alia, Paramount+ - it didn't seem reasonable that a change should result in you getting ads when one of the options that is now apparently offered by that company includes the equivalent of adskip. If you've not been paying for adskip, it's clearly a different answer.

I've been a Sky customer for a very long time, and I'm afraid to say they rarely if ever put Customer Service first if it's soemthing that, possibly, might affect their bottom line.

Perhaps interesting to note that it's apparently Sky Media which is handling Paramount+ advertising sales...
