I have a desktop Windows PC with an Nvidia UHD-capable graphics card and monitor connected via HDMI. I watch UHD videos on YouTube every day with no problems, they look fantastic. But I cannot figure out how to get the Sky Store desktop app to play back on the same PC in UHD - any ideas how/if it might be possible?

One of the Skystore terms and conditions says
"Buy & Keep Content
a. Buy & Keep Content is available to stream in SD and/or HD on all Devices, and download on selected Devices only in SD and/or HD. "
There is a similar condition for rentals
So as @caesarome says - I just don't think it's possible.
If you wanted to ask the question directly to the Skystore team - here is a link - (although livechat isn't open until Monday 11am)

You can't, skystore.com and the skystore app do not support UHD.
Just as the skystore app has very limited device support.
