Sky store purchases

Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help me.
im going through a separation and had moved out of our house and taken the Sky out.
I hoped to get sorted in a new home by now but that's looking like it won't happen soon so have now cancelled my Sky Q as it wasn't being used. I am going to have to send the box back which I'm not happy about since I've been a customer for a very long time VIP.
I will sign back up once I'm in a break home but because the box is going back I will lose all my paid for movies and free movies that have been saved on the box.
Is there anyway that these can be saved so that when I get Sky tv back I will have them back on my new box?

Thanks for your help

@Pauljob

I would imagine they'd go when you leave as you'd have a new account number when you sign back up, BUT the only way to know for sure would be to call Sky and ask them.

Hi @Pauljob  You should still be able to download all your purchased content from the SKY store, onto your new SKYQ box.

You will lose any recordings downloaded from your cancelled SKY TV subscription!

Re: Sky store purchases

Do I need to call Sky and ask them to save these purchases or will they automatically stay with my account? I've still got my Sky mobile running so it's not like I've left Sky completely. I can still access the "My Sky" app and see my old bills etc.

@Pauljob

Best way to find out is to wait for the Sky subscription to completely end (ie after notice period), then log in to Sky Store online or in the Sky Store app and see if you can still watch your movies. If so, then all's well.

As you have cancelled Sky and will be signing up again then you will not be able to access your purchases via your new Sky Q box as they are tied in with the account itself. The only way to access them now you have cancelled if via a Sky Store only account on your PC, tablet etc and to do this you would need to contact Sky Store support once the account has been cancelled and ask them to convert the closed account to a Sky Store only one.

Edit - Just had a thought, if you cancel and return within 12 months then you will be a returning customer so can continue with the cancelled account so should have access to your purchases. If you are away longer than 12 months then you will be a new customer so the above about losing access will apply.

Re: Sky store purchases

I've looked at my Sky store library and a could of movies are there but there are definitely some missing. Tbh I can't remember exactly what was on there now. I was thinking if I connected it up at my parents house as they have Sky could I then see what was on the box. I'll have to speak with Sky store I guess and figure out why everything isn't showing online when I log in.

Re: Sky store purchases

I'm hoping it won't be as long as 12 months so that would be good.

Re: Sky store purchases

Just hooked my old box up at my parents house but as the viewing card is cancelled now I couldn't get into my planner to look at the purchases on there.
Tried putting my parents viewing card in but it was asking to pair it up with my box so thought I better not in case it causes issues with their account etc.
Called Sky but got a pretty unhelpful chap who just said if you have cancelled then you will have lost all purchases completely.
When I said I should still be able to see those films online he said no you have lost everything as soon as it's been cancelled.

Think I'll have to try and speak to the Sky Store team in the morning maybe to see if they can get my movies back.

This is what you will need to do, you will not be able to watch them via your Sky box as I said before but you will be able to via other devices like computers, tablets and the like.

Re: Sky store purchases

Just spoke to Sky Store web hat and they have transferred everything into my account online which is great and they have confirmed that if I come back within the 12 months I will be able to continue my old account and get my movies back on the new box.

Good stuff, I did wonder if that will be the case so thanks for posting back on here to clear this up.
