UHD Buy & Keep ?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

This is a general question as I do not have any titles currently in mind

I  do tend to buy Physical media - especially due to the non compressed audio but every now and again I do think about buying digital online versions rather than UHD discs or blu-rays.

I have bought a couple of UHD  movies on  the Amazon Prime platform

Whenever I have looked at titles on SKY store I have never seen UHD versions available to buy & keep - only to rent & the maximimum quality to buy being HD .

Thus my question is does SKY ever sell UHD content on a buy & keep basis  or have I just not spotted them ?

If not,  do you think SKY ever will ?

I know SKY employees don't often comment but any comments from SKY would be especially welcome

TIA

Hi @nigea99

I can't ever remember seeing a UHD buy and keep  - but I guess these things progress over time

It wasn't that many years ago there were no blurays on sale at Skystore- so unless there is some extended restrictive licensing issue, my guess is that before long we will see UHD downloads with 4K discs

Although the UHD file sizes are comparatively very large, I don't see why that in itself would prevent Sky from selling them as "buy and keep"

just my thoughts
