Permanently deleting movies from library

I feel that customers should have the option to permanently delete shows/movies on not just their sky box but on those who use the app. For example a customer makes an accidental purchase from the buy and keep option but cannot remove it from the app so they would clearly ask an advisor to remove it as a 'gesture'. But that is time consuming for not just the customer but the advisors as well. I feel that sky should have a system in place for the sky store website where customer have the option to permanently delete movies that they no longer watch or prefer. Systems like prime video or Apple TV have an option to permanently remove their titles and have gotten good feedback because of it. Please take this into consideration sky and thank you for reading.

I guess one issue with bringing this in is that it would only be a matter of time before someone who didn't want to remove a purchase did accidentally remove it in error and once this is done there wouldn't be anyway to restore it.

If someone did make a Buy and Keep purchase in error then I would assume one reason why Sky haven't got this in place is because the number of people doing this must be quite small.

Re: Permanently deleting movies from library

Quite understandable but then again it would be a good feature to add even if it's just a

small amount of people who either immediately regreted using that option or was just an accident.

Re: Permanently deleting movies from library

I have had a similar issue. There are films that are regretted buying in the past or just don't watch them anymore but I can't permanently remove them from my library on the app as it is stuck on there. But over the years, sky has let me removed some films/shows as a 'gesture' but recently, after one of my family members bought a movie without permission and selected the buy and keep option I couldn't remove it as the advisor said I had reached a limit of  at least four and could not request any more to be permanently removed. This feature would be good and I totally agree with you RCoup as it would not just benefit me but to those who have had these 'accidental' purchases or have regretted choosing that option.

Well how odd @HI-de that there is a limit of four 😅

That's very arbitrary.

I could understand say - 4 in a year - but if it's 5 in 10 years that doesn't seem excessive

So it seems to be that if you have buyer's remorse on your Lethal Weapon movies - that's fine

but you are stuck with Alien, Bourne, Scream etc - and as for Star Wars / Marvel - then no chance

It's an odd rule imo.

Re: Permanently deleting movies from library

I'm not doubting HI-de choice of titles but I understand that if the titles that HI-de has purchased over the years have bored her, Then I would agree that sky should removed said titles on request of the customer. though I cannot say how many times she has done this which is probably why sky has stop these 'gesture'. But I believe that she has the right to still request removing these titles even if her choices are arbitrary.

Re: Permanently deleting movies from library

Thank you for understanding RCOUP,  it's true that the films and shows I purchase in the past I have regretted and wanted them gone from the app. I appreciate  sky for making these 'gestures' when I'm choosing to remove the ones that I no longer watch or even just if a title has received bad criticism. But I feel that sky should make my request even though I'm past a limit ( which I was unaware there was) because in my opinion, the customer has the say and choice in the matter towards their purchase(s)
