Insufficient credit on viewing card message on movie rental using sky q. But my box has never had a viewing card

This is an issue that the Sky Store team can fix for you tomorrow so I would get in touch with Sky Store support regarding this, they have a live chat you can use that is available from 11am-7.30pm Monday to Saturday and can be found here:

This error is causing by a spending limit on your account that has either been reached or is set at £0.
