Can i rent to watch an hd fil when i dont have hd tv

If you can access the back of your TV, note down the model number and either ask the internet that question, or post the model number on here and someone will take a look for you.
an alternative way would be to go to your TV settings menu and look to see what options are available to choose in the "picture' menu

As long as your TV can cope with a 720p signal it should be ok to play a Sky HD movie

Hi. My TV is a Sony Bravia circu 2012 when we were forced to go digital. Hi do I establish if my TV can cope with 720p signal?
