I wish to stop my family from making purchases without my knowledge

Try changing your pin as you have to enter this to make a payment so by changing this it should stop anything from being purchased:

https://mysky.sky.com/mysky/settings/tv-pin

Via the My Sky app > Manage Account > TV > TV Settings > TV Pin > Update.
