I do not have a sky cinema subscription, mainly because I found I was buying premium content and not watching the included content. I am about to go on a business trip and thought I would prepare by downloading a movie to watch one night. However, even though I have purchaesd the movie and can play it in the sky store app, I cannot download it. the page redirects to download the app but fails due to some security cetrtificate issue.
Where can I access a downloadable skystore app (not Sky Go) to get the novie to download on Windows 10? I will not have a reliable internet connection t the destination.

@Antares-Mark I know this sounds weird, but i switched over to Microsoft Edge to try and download it and it worked. I was originally trying to use Google Chrome but it just wasn't having it. Edge has worked for me. I now have the Sky Store App on my laptop. I'm sorry I was a few days late to your original posting and then maybe you could have watched your film/programme on the day you wanted to.

Try this
go here on your Windows device
skystore.com/n/haap/help/sky-store-apps
when you see the Skystore desktop app link
save the link address to your pc
Then go to that folder on your PC and right click - then run as administrator
any good ?

Yes @caesarome
It was opening on my PC on windows 11 but I think it was just linking to the existing Skystore folder on my PC and therefore opening the program. .
I get an error (as you and @Antares-Mark experience) when I try to download a fresh copy.

A couple of points, that url is where I find the app and my chrome browser complains. Secondly, I don't have admin rights to this company laptop . I hoped sky store could be install per user.
thanks for the suggestion

Your expectations are reasonable and as @caesarome suggests- the Skystore team on the link he provides should be able to advise you what's going on with the download.
Yiu should certainly be able to download buy and keep movies.

Not muchhelp there. Because this is a company laptop the help advisor indicated I should check with my IT team first.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAs @caesarome suggests- both he and I can't download it either (at first I thought it had opened on my PC but I think it was just acting as a link to my original installation. )
when I try a fresh download I get an error message also.
my guess (and it's only a guess) is that there is a problem at Sky's end rather than with your laptop
Not ideal - but do you have a phone or tablet you can try @Antares-Mark ? Edit - I just read that you do - hope it works ok.

Hello All,
okay I was able to download the sky store desktop EXE with firefox on my managed laptop. i was ableto run the EXE and find my purchases . it has takne a couple of goes (in an Italian hotel) to get the download to 66% so far. The in app player started plaing .. I'll find out if it lets me play.
Sky Go would not let me watch Formula 1 , but that is a separate story.
so I think the orignal question has been answered in that the problem lay with Chrome being over sensitive, maybe.
next topic when i find it does notplay ( as per SkyGo with nord vpn).

If you subscribe to Sky at an address in the UK then that would be as expected in Italy.
