Downloaded a film but not working

Ive downloaded a film and when I press play it's just a blue screen. When I come back out of it it displays how much I've viewed and how much time I've got remaining to watch. There is just no film playing .

Is this a premiere rental that you are watching on a system without HDMI ?  If so - then we often hear of this on the forum. It's due to extra copy protection.
