why not both

Why can't you have Sky Q and Sky Stream in the same home. Is it a technical issue of subscription control

Sky has never permitted two generations of its products at the same address: there's no technical reason for this with Q / Stream that I can think of, but that's what they choose to do.

AFAIK You can have Sky Q and NOW in the same home as they have separate accounting systems

I have 3 mini boxes. I know you can only connect 2 at a time, but the third one I have will simply not connect. A Sky Enginner spen 4 hours at the home trying to connect last Saturday with no success. Yet the mini box not connecting is the nearest to the main Sky Q box and in the hot spot for the house Wifi, so thinking Sky Stream just to replace the failing mini box connection

how many mini boxes have been tried to replace the faulty one as it could be a fault with the box not your broadband

@SnoooTwo  if the replacement is also not connecting get back in touch with sky and tell them that you are not receiving the service your paying for and it needs sorting 

 

given that Q hardware is loaned to you sky are obligated to sort out one way or another
