"Protected Title" recording

A few months ago Rewind TV (Channel 182) broadcast The Teacher (1974) a cult adult drive in movie. I set my Sky Q to record the broadcast, which it, did but when I checked the Recordings page it was not there. I searched on the Manage Recordings>Disc Space and found it was listed there as "Protected title" 1.4GB. I search forums for advice but could not find anything about such an issue or how to playback the recording. I performed a reboot and a reset settings cycle but neither resolved the issue, it was still sitting on the hard drive as a "Protect title" so I figured life's too short and just deleted it.

Last night 20th February Rewind TV (Channel 182) rebroadcast The Teacher (1974) so I thought I'd give it another shot at recording. Exactly the same result as previously, not in Recordings but on the hard drive again as "Protected title".

Never experienced this with any other recording on Sky Q box ever.

I'm wondering who is blocking the title from being played back after recording, Sky or Rewind TV.

It is an adult film with a dodgy plot but everyone is of the age of consent and it is by no means hardcore. What's going on, is it some kind of copyright issue? Any ideas guys?

Hi @Lee+Bradley   Just guessing, but do you have "Hide adult content" set to Off?

Re: "Protected Title" recording

Thanks for the reply, no I have "Family settings" off and "Hide adult content " off. There is no option to play on Recordings, it doesn't show up there, only on Recordings>Manage>Disc space as "protected title", with the options to delete , keep or lock. Strange one.

While I imagine that's technically possible, I'm not aware of it being done.

Re: "Protected Title" recording

Thanks for the reply. Perhaps a header in the didital recording that prevents playback. Who's put it there Sky or Rewind TV? Like I thought maybe Rewind TV because of some kind of copyright issue with this film.

I've recorded other dodgey adult 70s films off Rewind TV no issues whatsover,  just this one film, twice now.
