next episode display

Because I don't know how to properly describe this, I'm having no luck searching for help with this issue.  I've also looked in settings but can't find anything that sounds appropriate.

Anyway, if I watch a programme with later episodes available, during the current episode there appears a bar display across the bottom of the screen that gives the option of playing the next episode,  Make sense so far?

I found this quite useful when it appeared near the end of the current episode, but recently it has started to pop up 10 minutes or more before the end and now it is annoying me.  I'm watching episode 3 of something right now and at 45 minutes of a 56 minute recording I've just had the reminder of episode 4 which I have to remove as it takes up a quarter of the screen.

Is there a way I can stop this happening, or at least delaying it until the end titles?

Thank you.

Hi @tomlilamiamelissa

You cannot delay the timing but you can switch this off in settings .

Home - Settings - Setup - Preferences..

Switch off Autoplay

Re: next episode display

Thanks @oldfella

Not important but any idea why it went rogue?  As I said, it used to happen right at the end which was fine but all of a sudden...

Haven't seen it happen early here @tomlilamiamelissa

Could be an error by the channel broadcaster.

You could report it giving channel and episode details to Viewer relations.

Re: next episode display

Having same problem.  The downside of exiting out of 'play next episode' is that when you are ready to watch the next episode, you have to go all the way out and back into your recordings to find it. Has made binge watching a program very frustrating. Hubby is ready to throw box out the window.  If any finds a better so,Union, p,ease let us know.

Re: next episode display

Ours has started doing this. Drives me crazy. 10 mins in the bar appears and doesn't go unless you manually get rid. Then when the episode ends it just waits and goes off so I have to go and manually watch the next one. It's not channel specific it's happening on everything.

No idea why this has randomly started to happen.

Maybe SKY have purposely broke it to force us to go to Sky Glass

Yes I don't trust them

The satellites are degrading they can't replace them so they desperately need everyone off the satellite dishes. They're already stopping all SD channels impacting ppl that only have the older SD boxes.

They hate legacy stuff

Which SD channels have they stopped? I'm amazed any non-HD boxes are still working, you're talking 18 years ago I think. And the picture quality of SD always was abysmal.

@batesy2000 you really need to get your facts right.

Sky have no control over the satellites it is the manouvering fuel that will run out at the end of this decadeSky's contract with SES who owns the satellites also runs out around 2028 and we doubt it will be renewed.

The SD channels are not being stopped they have been moved to a different transponder which the older SD boxes are unable to receive but the the current older HD boxes and Q boxes can receive

All tech firms 'hate' out of date hardware.  (It's costly to maintain and they prefer you to invest in newer options)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own
