I have paid for an extra Sky Q mini box which arrived today. I have managed to connect it to the internet and upgraded the software but the screen says "Maximum number of SkyQ mini boxes already in use". I only have a main box, an additional mini box and now this third one. Can't get through to sky and there is no help guide. Any help welcome please.

What is the hardware version of your main box ?
Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version
If it is 32Cxxx then you have an older 1TB non-UHD Box which can only support 1 mini box

Thanks for the fast reply. Sadly, it's a 32C :-(. Such a pity Sky does not tell you that when you order from them. I assume I now need to upgrade the hardware or out the other in standby mode when I want to use the 3rd one? Thanks again for your help!

yes, unfortunately they charge for an upgrade.
BTW All other main boxes still only support a max of 2 active minis

Where do I go to find a link to buy an upgrade to the 2TB box to allow me to use two Mini Q boxes?

Unfortunately the online (on box/web etc.) links were removed a couple of years or so ago when there was a shoratge of 2TB HDR boxes and have never been re-instated.
Thus you will need to call. If you need a number then:
If you have the MY SKY app I think you may be able to find a number there - especially if you are a SKY VIP member
If not go this page & scroll to the bottom and expand the link need more help & scroll down

If you have SKY Mobile or SKY Talk land line then I think you can also call 150
