Been following this I'm connected via Ethernet and have same issue. Work around is ff/rew play works but is somewhat annoying seems like a sky issue to me. I've a smart tv and the YT app doesn't have this issue.

I just waited and it fixed itself each time in about 10seconds. Fine on a video review about bike computers, not so good at a critical dialogue moment in a multi-oscar winning movie.
It can be a Google issue and still only affect their app implementation on Sky Q because of device specific differences.

Further to @Chloe-W22 's post my boxes have been updated to Q270.000.10.02.
Too soon to tell if the crashing to UI issue has actually been fixed although I only ever had this problem a couple of times , albie both quite recently, whereas the "sound drop - loading" issue is now pretty much 100% of the time.
If Sky / Google are struggling to replicate this problem then can we here help with providing information such as technical details of the setups we are using to establish any common factors?
No sure why any of the following might contribute to the problem but for the record:
Sky Q 2T main box now on Q270.000.20.02L (5u192hm)
Hardware version 32B064
UI 27.772.271.00
Network version 2.00
4 mini boxes with the same software / UI and network versions as the main
Hardware versions are 32D00D, 32D00B, 32D007 (x2)
Main box is connected via gigabit ethernet to broadband router, fttp clocking typically at 900-1000Mb/s. I say this as the "loading" message may otherwise be associated with buffering and I am 100% sure this is not a fundamental broadband speed issue, particularly as non-Sky devices connected via ethernet and wifi to the same network do not show the problem.

I've had the same problem for a while. Sort it out Sky.

Was this issue fixed? I use the youtube app a lot, but these issues are infuriating. Pausing, jumping forward, or even sometimes just playing causes the issues mentioned.
After loading for a few seconds, it jumps back some distance, replays what was jumped over, or played recently, with no sound, with the sound returning when it gets to where it should have played from.
Can be fixed by rejumping forwards, but this is irritating. Box is up to date, and issue has been occurring for several years at least.
Hope you have a soliton

On latest version of the Sky Q software here, and once again YT just bombed out to live TV, mid-playback. The pause problem is also still present. Every time I pause for longer than a few seconds, it shows the OSM, audio is out of sync, but at least then it jumps back 20 seconds, and recovers. The crashing problem is the real pain though.

At this point, nothing has changed.

There's also a nice new 'feature' I've noticed over the last few days - when an Ad kicks in and plays, and you skip, or it just finishes, the video you were watching doesn't play from where it stopped - no - it's as if it continued playing in the background, so you miss some stuff!! I have to rewind after an ad now, to watch the stuff that's been skipped. (These aren't 'live' broadcasts, btw, just videos)

Glad I found this thread, so I'ts not us gong bonkers. Yep having the same problem, updated to lastest sofware, and Utube jams after a few minutes, ffwd, it the sends itself back to where the problem started and continues, on some playlist stuff it happens a lot.
Not going to erase our playlists and start again. Did that some time ago with one of wife's playlists (as requested by her to get rid of some stuff) never got that list back to anything like it was before.
Will keep checking in.

My Youtube app via my Sky Q box was working fine until the Sky Q box needed replacing a few weeks ago. I'm getting exactly the same issues when pausing Youtube. I have made sure that I have the latest software version but the problem still persists. Do I need to arrange another new Sky Q box? It's so frustrating.

No, it's a software issue - I actually haven't had a crash for a week or so. I don't think I've had the pause issue either - though I can't be certain about that. I'll test it later.
I still have the problem of the video continuing when an ad comes on, so you miss some of the video.

Update : still no crashes, but I can confirm the pause problem is still there, along with the video not stopping when the ad kicks in

I am in the habit of pressing REW once before PLAY when coming out of pause to mask the problem, so I was hopeful when I saw a couple of earlier posts that gave a glimmer of hope. I tried simply pressing PLAY - low and behold no problem!! "Wow!" I thought, "Fixed at last!"
No, after a couple of successes, back to the old prpblems. Based on this thread alone this has been on going for over a year so It really seems noone at Sky (You Tube / Google / third party software developer / whatever) is interested or doing anything about it. Here's to the next inflation busting price increase then! 😁

I'm starting to think its actualy a youtube issue not just a sky one.
I've been having a lot of problems with youtube in firebox on my computer.
It seems related to pausing and restarting too.
Would still be nice to get some kind of reply from sky though.
