YouTUBE

Hi there,

For the last 8 months, the YouTube app has been pausing, and then starting up again after several seconds.  Today it got so bad I can no longer use it.  I have a  wired connection, it works fine through the same Smart TV.  I have power cycled the Sky Q box several times.  The Netflix app does not buffer.  There is something wrong with he app I believe when running it through SkyQ.

Re: YouTUBE

In a strange turn, it has not done it today.  Has something been changed?

Re: YouTUBE

Are you watching YouTube in 2160p/UHD/4K format? If so try lowering the quality to 1080p. I always find the Sky Q boxes struggle with YouTube UHD (and the first generation don't support it at all).

Re: YouTUBE

I tried what you suggested, 3 days ago I reduced it to 720.  There has been no change.  In fact, yesterday was the worst pausing restarting ever since it started doing it.  Just to re-iterate my point.  If I use YouTube through my smart TV it is perfect.

Always use the native TV app if you have one...

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Yeah I can't see any reason to persevere with the sky one.
