What will I get for £4 extra for UHD

If I pay the extra £4 for UHD then what will I actually get. I'm not subscribed to sports, F1 or movies, I just have Sky Signature and HD. Thanks

Hi @Michaelwx If you don't subscribe to channels that have access to UHD, then there is no point in paying the extra subscription. for UHD.

You'll get some Sky Original drama series, some HBO/Sky Atlantic shows and a few nature documentaries in UHD. You could pay £4 for a month & watch the few decent things that look good in it, then cancel.

So none of the box sets would be in UHD? How do you actually get a UHD programme? Am I right in thinking things aren't broadcast in UHD, it's download only? I can't seem to find any clear info about all this.

if you don't have Sports r Movies then it is  more limited.

There are UHD versions of some the likes of SKY Max, SKY Atlantic, SKy Witness as well as SKY Nature

P.S. I have not double checked all listings & it has been known for SKY to list some on the UHD rails without being UHD but I think those I have listed are

hi @Michaelwx 

Edit - Yes all entertainment (& SKY Movies) UHD content is download only - only Sports is live in UHD

Last of Us is listed as UHD/HDR (with Dolby Atmos)

If you do get the UHD add on then to watch in UHD best to set download preference to UHD 
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences
(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

Then when selecting the episodes it usually shows and downloads the UHD version - although sometimes you do have to search to make sure it is showing the UHD versions

Thanks all. That makes things a bit clearer. Just looked in my Sky account and I can get UHD for free for 2 months anyway so I'll give it a go and get my head around it. 😀

Historically HBO has been very slow to release UHD versions to Sky (sometimes years, probably because they have a reasonable 4K Blu-ray audience base)

I believe the first broadcast run of House of the Dragon S2 will have a UHD on-demand version almost simultaneously.
