Weather app experience ruined

As per title.....just why ?😔

Something else now ruined in the name of "progress" no doubt

Why change something that worked and could be accessed without switching the tv program off that we are watching?

They have now seem to have adopted the absolute car crash style from the met office when they recently updated their website and app, to now make it less user friendly on sky.

Luckily the met seemed to listen to people and gave a way to revert to their older style website after all the complaints.

This just seems unnecessary and clunky to use now.

Hi all,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I wanted to update this thread to let you know that your feedback has been shared with our Sky product teams.

We want to reassure you that your comments have been taken seriously. Your feedback around ease of use will be reviewed carefully and used to inform ongoing improvements. The reason for the change is now means our Sky Q app is aligned with the Sky Glass experience, providing a more consistent experience across platforms and regions. This allows us to look at feedback across the board and identify refinements that may be needed.

Please do continue to share your feedback on the Sky Community forum, and we’ll make sure it reaches the right teams 💪

I'm going to mark this post as the answer to the thread for now, so as many people see the update as possible.

Re: Weather app experience ruined

Totally agree. Used the old app every day to plan clothing etc and it was quick and easy to read and navigate. New one is a giant backwards step.

Re: Weather app experience ruined

New Sky Weather on TV is awful. 🫤👎

Now have to leave the programme that was being  watched to look at the weather.

Why change something that was working perfectly well!!!

Don't  think we will be using it anymore.

Re: Weather app experience ruined

This new app is rubbish.  It takes ages to load, is not as easy to read as the last one, it switches off the program being watched.  Whoever decided to make the change needs to rethink and bring back the old app.  Why fix something that is not broken ??

Hate hate hate this change.

How on earth can they get something so so simple so so wrong.

Re: Weather app experience ruined

I agree with the previous posts -we have something quick effcient and very useful.

Now we have a clunky slow and graphically poorer facility.

Who ever made the decision to go with this (and someone signed it off)needs to really consider what they think they are doing

In short a good customer ecperience turned in to a rubbish one. Some may have experienced apple liquid glass another  IT blunder.

I have read that this is to have a 'unified veiwer experience across sky glass and sky Q' not sure if I buy that as you are only going to watch one or the other at any one time. If that is the case why on earth can you not unify around the clearly better option.

As someone has already said I very much doupt I will be using this unless the functionality is returned.

Re: Weather app experience ruined

I agree with PCL1 .... 100% ...  The "unified approach" excuse is just that, an excuse for poor decision-making and not consulting your customers.

I have Sky Q, not Glass, so why would I want a unified view when I am only likely to be looking at only one at any one time ??

I had another look at the "new" weather app on Q, and it is still slow, clunky and really not fit for purpose.

Revert back to the app that works the best please Sky,
