Adaptor for your TV? Does you TV not have HDMI input sockets? An HDMI socket is all a Sky Q box needs to connect to your TV?

Re: We do not have sky Q
If your TV only has SCART inputs I would suggest you really should update it (the technology has come on a very long way in the last 20 years) but appreciate that cost could be an issue, though TVs are relatively cheap these days.
what did they say the next step would be?
An HDMI to composite plus composite-> SCART adapters could work as long as the former supports the right HDCP encryption versions but even then the results will be ugly and I'd spend the money on a TV instead.

Re: We do not have sky Q
You are right. Its a Hitachi Plasma 42" wall mounted tv with these inputs:
- 2 x SCART
- 1 x Component (Y/Pb/Pr)
- 1 x Composite
- 1 x S-Video
- 1 x PC Input (D-Sub)
- 1 x RF Input
We purchased a separate HDMI unit when we installed it to enable connection to the tv and the old sky box and it has been working fine since 2005. It would have been nice to have the Sky Q Box to make viewing a bit more interesting. Perhaps the engineer was a bit perplexed because we have an old tv. He did say there was not much difference betwee the two boxes.

Re: We do not have sky Q
Ah the old commercial plasmas. Loved mine back in the day
I had a scaler that converted HDMI to RGBHV for those but it never supported hdcp 2 and I bet that hdmi module doesn't either. Defo time to retire the old girl in favour of a much bigger, lighter, sharper, 4K HDR supporting and less energy hungry OLED I reckon 😁

Re: We do not have sky Q
In the early days of SKY Q , the box did come with both an hdmi and an av component cable for those that back then did not have hdmi TVs.
The cable was the same as the Nokia CA-75U cable that you can purchase online.
Not aware for a good few years that Sky engineers have been carrying the av cables anymore.
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.

I am not sure that the main boxes ever had an av socket
The minis had & still do
