When I go to the cinema to watch a movie, I pay my money for two aspects of the movie experience. One is to revel in the visual content and glory of the visual sensation of the movie. The second is to feel the punch and awe of both the sound effects as well as the movie sound track. Why is it then that when I watch a movie on Sky Q, the visual experience is there but the sound quality is pathetic at best. I have invested heavily in a state of the art sound system to produce the same experience that I get from the cinema in my own home. However, when watching a movie, when the action scenes begin, some sort of weird volume control kicks in and lowers the volume to such an extent that it completely spoils the movie experience? Nothing I do to my TV, sound system or Sky Q box can rectify this situation. I am on the verge of cancelling my Sky movie subscription all together and moving over completely to other streaming services that do not have this issue at all. What are your thoughts?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @Samhill From what you describe, absolutely nothing to do with the Sky Q box which outputs a constant volume. It sounds like your sound system is auto adjusting the volume as a safeguard if it is too loud.

Hi mightyquinn. My sound system does not auto adjust the volume for any other format: Netflix, Prime, Paramount, iPlayer, Dvd or anything else, o ly Sky.
