Viewing card

My sky box has come up with the message 'please insert your viewing card with the chip facing up.

the viewing card has not been removed. I have rebooted the sky box and reinserted the viewing card. The  same message is still there

@Tim2024  You are the second person to post this issue tonight 

 

If you've got Sky Q, then you will have a viewing card in the slot on the side of your box.  If you push it gently in, it should then pop out. Give the chip face a wipe with a soft, dry cloth, push it back in the same way up as it came out, and see if that sorts it.

If you've got Sky Q, then you will have a viewing card in the slot on the side of your box.  If you push it gently in, it should then pop out. Give the chip face a wipe with a soft, dry cloth, push it back in the same way up as it came out, and see if that sorts it.

@Tim2024 You could try refreshing your viewing card by

pressing home > settings > system info > viewing card number > setup > viewing card setup

press select to trigger a callback don't worry nothing to do with your phone its only Sky's terminology this will be done over the internet

You can't do a callback if the box thinks the card isn't inserted 🙂

I'm afraid the only way to do this now is by calling Sky. The Messaging Team on here can't action that request any more.

Hi I have just received a new sky Q box and unfortunately i left the viewing card in the old box they took away

Hi I'm not looking to reply to anyone I have simply lost all hope in trying to get an answer on where my viewing card is. I never received prior to installation and was told it was expressed posted on Dec 23rd. Take into account the Christmas stoppages, I still have not received it and nobody has made contact with me with a tracking reference number or any sort of update, not even an apology to say it should have been posted 14 days earlier. I truly have no door left to open and I cannot speak to that customer service Centre again.

My son had Sky Q installed on 23 December but his viewing card hadn't arrived. Luckily the engineer had spares in his van. The viewing card eventually arrived on 31 December. They are sent via Royal Mail so you are relying on your Postie.
