Thank you for confirming my thoughts.

Well unfortunately it did used to tell you there was a clash on the APP meaning that once again SKY goes backwards. The SKY+ app, when opening it would tell you of any clashes. The APP is now defunct with no replacement. Why? Things should be moving forwards not backwards. How about a monthly fee moving backwards to compensate?

@ginger101010 Sky go was updated to accommodate Sky Q which rarely will have recording clashes due to being able to record 6 channel at one time whilst watching a seventh the Sky+ app is defunct as Sky are no longer supporting Sky+ (HD) now hence the reason thereare no updates for the app and no replacement simply because Sky no longer support the system I am sure in a few years time when satellite TV is on its way out that Sky Q will go the sxame way

I believe you also can't remotely set a recording for BBC channels when away using the Sky Q app but you could and still can if you have it using the old Sky+ app.
Obviously less of an issue these days with downloads and apps but still a step backwards...

Incorrect - you can't download from BBC channels to your phone or tablet remotely, but you can still set a recording to your Sky Q box; just need to make sure you've selected the 'Record to Sky Box' tab in the app

@who10uk I take it you mean the Sky Go app as the Sky Q app was discontinued years ago but any way as @Invisiblename says on the old Q app you could record BBC channels and on the Sky Go app you can still record the BBC channels when away from home you just need to chose the option record to Sky box

Last time I was out of the country I thought I had set a number of recordings for the 2nd week of my holiday.
When I returned none of these recordings had happened and there was no sign that I had set them I.e. no failed recordings.
I still had free space on my 2Tb box.
