Posted by a Sky employee@WAYNELESLIE - What I understand from your post is you have two satellite connections into your property from the communal system.
Only one connection is required for Sky Q in a communal setup. When the Engineer visits they will identify which cables feed your property on the communal system and install a little adaptor to enable one connection in your property to be Sky Q ready.
They then connect one cable up to your Q box and via the Engineering menu enable the single cable / communal mode. At this point your Q box will act as if you have your own dish in terms of number of channels you can record etc.
