Ultimate TV package

My Sky contract is coming up for renewal. I currently pay for Sky signature, Ultimate TV, Sky HD and Sky sports. I very rarely watch Netflix or any Sky TV channels apart from Sky Arts and Sky Atlantic (although living without them wouldn't be a problem). So I have the following questions that I hope someone can help with:

1. I know that if I stop subscribing to Ultimate TV I would no longer have access to Netflix (no problem for me). Would I also lose access to Sky Arts and Sky Atlantic or are these part of Sky signature?

2. If Arts and Atlantic are part of Sky signature would I still need Sky HD to access them? I assume not but would only obviously be able to view them in SD.

3. I assume that without Sky HD I could still view FTA channels (like BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc) in HD?

4. I'm seriously considering cancelling all packages and using Now TV instead because all I basically watch is Sky Sports cricket or football. Would there be any issues with this?

Many thanks

1. The Sky channels are included with Signature- only NetFlix is enabled with Ultimate TV add on

2. There are SD versions but the quality is low (expected)

3. Yes.

4. No, but is a streaming service so no recording etc.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Have you considered Sky Stream?

Sounds from your description, that Sky Essential TV pack with Sky Stream would work for you.

The base pack is £15 and provides all the free to air channels you mention, listed below;

The current offer also adds Sky Sports for £20 a month.

Plus the Netflix with ads comes free with Sky Stream.

That would be a 24 month contract.

For Sky Stream, you would need a reliable broadband.

Recommended minimum broadband speed of 25Mbps.
Or 30Mbps if you add an extra Sky Stream puck or to watch in UHD.

Re: Ultimate TV package

Hi @lettice

Thanks for the info. Sky essentials certainly looks like the best deal for me. Only issue is that this appears to be for new customers only. Even though my Q contract finishes this month I'm not sure I'd be eligible for these prices.

Re: Ultimate TV package

I too considering cancelling my Sky subscription when my minium term end at the end of the year and going now tv as like you don't watch hardly any of the signature channels apart from the free ones and my wife watches alebi and Sky sports . I bought a cheap Amazon firestick be fore Christmas and been experimenting with it. To be honist I have not used my Sky box since all the stuff I have watched on the Sky box like Netflix prime video are available on there I do watch TNT sports but that is available on the discovery plus app so I still get that  the fire stick has live tv section tha gives easy access to BBC  ITV ect though the progreaming via the iPlayer and ITVx but that is not really much of problem. The small amount of Sky programming ie Sky news and alibi  plus Sky sports I can get from now tv app. The cost is far less than SkyQ as the entainment is only £10 and give access to to alibi and Sky news( which really a free channel)  Ii would have pay full price for Sky sports of £35 but is still cheaper than Sky Q . I would  have to pay a bit more for Netflix as the direct price is actully slightly dear than what Sky charge but I won't be paying £4:50 for the ultimate tv package so it works out equal
