UHD set up

I have always had a UHD TV set up to my Sky Q box but only recently discovered it wasn't set to UHD. I've followed the tutorials and set it up, both tv and box say UHD and 10 bit, UHD colour is switched on in the tv settings. While I can download UHD movies and watch them with no red dot warning, when I go in the uhd tutorials it continues to say my STB and TV are not set up for UHD on the downloads (I am redownloading each time I change anything). What am I missing please?

hi @Nic111

What main box do you have - I suspect you may have a 2TB UHD but not HDR which will set 10 bit UHD but not allow SKY HDR channels or recordings

Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version

If it is 32B0xxx then you have a (V1) UHD but non HDR 2TB Box
If it is 32B1xxx then you have a (V2) UHD HDR 2TB Box (which has a separate Power supply)
If it is 32B2xxx then you have a (V3) UHD HDR 1TB or 2TB Box

Re: UHD set up

I have the 32B2xxx 1TB, it is UHD as we stated we had a UHD tv when we signed up to sky q. I have the pink HDMI cable too.

Not too sure what the problem might be, as you say you are able to set UHD 10 bit OK  - unless your TV can't handle HLG UHD/HDR

Perhaps you can advise the make & model of your TV

Re: UHD set up

Personally I'd ignore the tutorials, if you can view uhd downloads OK then it is working. Another test is to go into the bbc iplayer app and test a uhd program in there...

Re: UHD set up

Thank you. I've tested on iPlayer and it's playing UHD so maybe it is all fine then.

Re: UHD set up

Thank you, it's a Samsung one, it says UHD HDR on the HDMI port info so I assume it is. I can only assume, that I should ignore the videos like has been suggested.
