Hi, I have recently purchased a TCL P8K tv and cannot get UHD to work from a sky q box. Can anyone please help with settings I need to check/change on the tv to allow this?
thanks Russell

hi @Russell2206
Have you used 4K on another TV or is this the first time - if the 1st time check your box:
Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version
If it is 32Cxxx then you have an older 1TB non-UHD Box
If it is 32B0xxx then you have a (V1) UHD but non HDR 2TB Box
If it is 32B1xxx then you have a (V2) UHD HDR 2TB Box (which has a separate Power supply)
If it is 32B2xxx then you have a (V3) UHD HDR 1TB or 2TB Box
If it is a non UHD you would need to upgrade it (SKY usually charge around £99)
If it is a UHD box then can you select 2160p at all ?

Re: UHD on TCLP8K tv
I would have thought any modern 4K/8K Tv would allow 4K by default but always worth checking the settings for the HDMI input

Re: UHD on TCLP8K tv
Silly question perhaps but do you subscribe to UHD from Sky? Is it on all channels?

Re: UHD on TCLP8K tv
Yes, definitely subscribed to UHD, as I said before, it worked in an LG, brought a bigger tv and now it's not

Re: UHD on TCLP8K tv
Try a better 8k certified cable, they don't cost much

Ok that's completely bizarre. All that does is change the output to 60fps on some apps. Doesn't even affect normal menus and TV which still run at 50.

Re: UHD on TCLP8K tv
Out of interest, does the TCL P8K show UHD in 10-bit well? I had Sky stream so have to use 10-bit as no option to change and my current Samsungs peak brightness is too low to handle UHD well. I'm looking int new TV's and wondered how the P8K handles Sky sports UHD for example?
