Tv subscription needed?

Hiya, do I need to have a television package if I already have WiFi and netflix? I'm not getting good signal and often pauses my programmes. Instead of wasting money and time can I just have WiFi and neflix is this allowed?

You do need at least essentials

what's wrong with your satellite signal?

if you only want netflix just use a TV app or firestick and don't pay for a Q sub or TV license.

I want the WiFi with sky as it's served me well for years, I just don't use the television package to be honest is there a way of having a basic package or none at all?

Assuming you are not subject to any minimum term then you can cancel the TV and keep broadband.

To keep the Q boxes you need a Sky subscription.  There is a basic package 'Essentials' but only provides free-to-air channels for around £15pm.

If you return the Q boxes then you can subscribe to NetFlix but you need a platform to host the app.  Most smart TV's do this or, as above, purchase a low cost dongle such as a FireStick.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Yeah the "VHS player sized" main box that takes the satellite signal (or internet stream) and processes it to send to the TV.

we are assuming you are on Sky Q

@MarcellaB

For a limited channel bundle plus Netflix and Discovery+ you could look at Sky Essential TV on a Stream puck (which, confusingly, is entirely different to Sky Television Essentials on Sky Q)

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Sky Broadband is available without Sky television, but you'd need to source a different device for hosting Netflix (and reasonably recent smart television set will do so)
