That shouldn't be the case. In the 10 years plus that I used Sky's satellite tv service, it was very rare that it was unuseable due to poor weather - a handful of times over the entire period.
Your communal dish needs looking at.

Yeah, same. I suspect this dish isn't installed very securely.
