Tnt sports

image.jpg

My TNT sports channels are not working. I called up BT disccus the matter with them. I was on hold for a while whilst they do their checks. They said it says it's fine on their side. They assumed it was to do with sky, as it says something to do with the satalite. So this is the reason why I'm trying to get through to sky to solve this matter.

@Corz50

So, that image is showing an issue with your satellite signal. Firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Also check the troubleshooting in this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.

If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise with you building management company / landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact.

Note: A misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels.

Hi @Corz50

Do you pay Sky or BT for your TNT subscription as I see you are trying to watch in HD?

If you subscribe to TNT Sport through Sky (and pay Sky for your Subscription) then you can watch on Mini boxes (provided you have the necessary Monthly Multiscreen subscription). Also subscribing through Sky TNT Sport in HD is included and Discovery plus is upgraded to premium.
If you pay BT directly for TNT Sports on Sky then to receive TNT Sport on Minis you need to pay BT’s monthly second box charge. One monthly charge covers all minis. Also to receive TNT Sport in HD there is an additional BT monthly charge when subscribing though BT.

That link is provided by Sky. If you are seeing the 'no satellite signal' for all channels now you'll need to arrange an engineer to check and adjust your dish alignment.

Re: Tnt sports

I've got my sky back up by changing what you guys told me to change in the 1st place. Which I've now changed back. Now all my channels work but tnt sports.

I've booked in an engineer for the 7th. Which is a very long wait for something which isn't our fault.

@Corz50  unfortunately you will have been given the first available appointment within your area

sky are reducing the number of engineers they employ as they move away from satellite broadcasting to internet based services

Re: Tnt sports

Come on Sky/TNT, sort this out.  It's clearly an issue, still happening now.  Every single other channel is available yet this channel is "affected by a problem with the satellite signal"!

You're  replying to these issues as though they're isolated - clearly not!!!!

Re: Tnt sports

I've had the same problem for a couple of weeks on my HD+ box. No joy from either BT ot Sky (who, unsurpsrisinglyl tell me that they're sure upgrading to Sky Q will resolve it!). I struggle to understand how the HD+ box can receive all channels except TNT quite happily.

It is weird that I keep seeing all these problems with TNT Sports channels on Sky Q, regardless it seems of who you pay for access.

I don't have an answer to the problem, but just wanted to remind everyone you can still watch TNT Sports channels live through Discovery+ on a variety of devices (including Q), while you wait for a fix.

Whether you pay BT/EE or Sky for Discovery+ you get access to Discovery+ Premium including TNT Sports.

Hi @stereohaven

To get Discovery plus premium on your  Q box you need to subscribe to TNT Sports with Sky..

Hi @oldfella

No you don't, my subscription is via BT/EE and I have been using the Discovery+ app on Q to watch TNT Sports in up to UHD HDR since its inception.

Hi @stereohaven

I stand corrected.  I always assumed you had to subscribe to TNT through Sky directly.

Edit

I assume you subscribed to the free Discovery plus through Sky Marketpkace?

Nope, the app works just like Disney+, you can get a subscription through Sky and log in, or from somewhere else, it works either way.

I do have access to Discovery+ standard free via Sky, but I am logged in on the box with my BT/EE account.

I do think TNT Sports is a better deal on Q via Sky if you want to use the channels in the EPG though. I will subscribe that way when my current deal ends and I move my broadband.

But getting back to the thread, whoever you pay, if the live channels are not working via the TV Guide do log in and use the app while you wait for a fix 👍
