Three Sky Q recording issues

This doesn't happen every time, but when I set a series to record the odd episode won't be included in the folder, but is just in amongs all the other odd programmes. Either that, or it is in "Other", not so common.

Another issue. Unlike Sky HD+ (which I was quite happy with), it doesn't know that you want to record the new series when it comes in. If I've not heard that it was coming, I'll miss the first one or two, then have to try a work-around to record them, but not always possible, depending on which channel it was on.. There used to be a page where you could check what series Sky + was waotomg

Third issue with recordings: instead of the above one, it seems to look for showings of a series on any other channel which has already been watched, or recorded. So I can end up with 3 or 4 recordings of the same episode, multiply that by 8 episodes....! It never seems to record the ones which aren't included in the folder though!!

Am I missing something, is there a fix I've might not have tried for any of these

Regarding the first para of my post, I've been talking to a Sky Expert on Chat today and they think this problem of odd episodes not being included in the series folder may be addressed in the next software update.

We won't need to do anything they'll automatically be added, provided they're on the same channel etc.

Not yet had time to properly discuss the other issues yet. Maybe tomorrow.

The "waiting for new episodes" on the Sky+ box was great! I could swear the Q box showed it as well for a while...

Sky Q is supposed to do the same (there is even a setting to turn it on) but it has stopped working for us entirely. Like you said, missed the first Death in Paradise episode, almost missed the start of Silent Witness and John Oliver.

One of the many reasons Sky Q is worse than Sky+.

Not much has changed, has it. It's about a year since I raised these issues.

The orphaned episodes issue seems a bit better, though I still have some showing.  Although I set Great Pottery Showdown to record series, it recorded the January episodes, then I realised it hadn't recorded  the February ones (episodes 5 and on).

So I'm now having to manually find them. Think the final is this week, so I'll have to watch the recordings before seeing the final!
