LOL.  My comment relating to them giving an actual aimed date/month for deployment was in reply to your comment

"that a fix is currently planned for a future software release" is very clear surely, it's not "they have a fix ready to go"."

Which implied that there was a possibility they did NOT have a fix ready to go.

I think we might be talking at cross purposes 😛

We can hopefully agreed that (a) it is not currently fixed and (b) Sky have suggested that, by the end of September, they will have, at the very least, started deploying the fix.

Re: This programme is no longer available

When the proposed update is rolled out will we get a full list of all fixes for that version? I personally have had a handful of different behaviours which require a reboot so if they aren't all fixed then we'll be on the merry-go-round for some time more. I appreciate that one software fix might address multiple issues but it would be good to know what has actually been resolved.

No, they're never released a bug fix list with any release, as annoying as that is.

@paulmitchell1984

I have moved your post into a thread already discussing this issue. Please see the post currently marked as the answer.

Yes, although there are other ways of reading it (with my pedant's hat on) I won't make it more confusing/worse by picking it all apart. I can certainly say I agree that it looks like fixes are coming soon.

btw Please remember there are two different bugs, both getting merged into this thread and discussed here:

1. "This programme is no longer available" bug. This needs a reboot to work around.

2. HDMI handshake with TV which sometimes happenes when box is brought out of standby using the remote. There is an excellent analysis reported by @manassas77 in >this post< .

(a) This does not need a reboot to work around when it happens (you can do combinations of remove HDMI cable, put into standby, back out of standby, re-insert HDMI cable to force a new handshake with the TV), but some people do reboot knowing it takes a lot longer, or cannot reach the cables in their setups.

(b) As advised many times, you can avoid it happening by using the front-panel's button, instead of the remote control's buttons, to bring the box out of standby. Then continue to use the remote as normal.

Personally I have only been affected by this second bug, but appreciate that the first one must be incredibly annoying.

Re: This programme is no longer available

I must just be lucky.  I have both issues 🤣

*Edit - having said that .. I have set my Sky box to never go into Standby .. and yet still have the HDMI issue.  So it isn't just linked to coming out of Standby.

Re: This programme is no longer available

My box has just started doing this- one main box and 2 minis. I reboot and fixes for abit and then goes again. My WiFi is extremely slow all of a sudden too. So can someone clarify that it's a softerware issue for many, that is currently getting getting fixed?

Seems to be a software issue.

For how many? Only Sky knows but recent estimates state there are between 5 million and 7.5 million Sky Q households remaining, obviously it can only be a very small percentage of them.

Presumably it'll be fixed with the (I think) soon to drop software update.

Turn your ONT (if you're on FTTP) and the hub off at the wall for 10 minutes. Let the ONT reboot first and then the hub.

Re: This programme is no longer available

Has anything changed on the boxes or at the back end? I know the main software version on our box is still Q360 but I haven't suffered a freeze for 3 days now.

Last week was terrible for daily resets but (I know I'm tempting fate) since Friday the 2Tb box has remained working. We now wake up to a 'Sorry, this service is currently unavailable' on the recordings screen but a quick home and back to recordings shows them.

Fingers crossed we're close to a fix.

4 months getting stuck in standby intermittently , I hope the fix is soon.

Re: This programme is no longer available

My Sky Q main box and minis both got updated to Q370.000.09.00 firmware last night (previously Q360.000.08.00) . Be interesting to see if this changes either problem.

It did seem that my TV took longer to turn on when I turned on the Sky Q box this morning which is what triggered me to check.

That's good to know, I believe the HDMI issues were addressed in that update. For everyone else, the roll out is phased and there's no way of jumping the queue, there's also no point in hitting the 'Update' button time after time as that won't help and will only frustrate.
