TV Essentials Sky Atlantic

Hi there, my bill is so high and as I live on my own, it seems crazy. Does anyone know if you still get Sky Atlantic if you drop to TV Essentials on a Sky Q box? All info online seems to suggest yes, but guy from sky I spoke to on the phone said you don't. I'm wondering if this is true before I make decision. Thanks

hi @Grace1973

No, unfortunately not - you only get the 'Free to Air' channels via the SKY Q essentials - SKY Atlantic is not Free To Air

SKY Q essentials is not the same as the recently  announced similarly named  package only available on Glass/Stream called Essential TV

It is unfortunate that SKY have reused the essential name for a package that is dfifferent

No.  You only get 'free to air' channels.

You need Signature for Sky Atlantic.

TV Essentials on Sky Q does NOT include Sky Atlantic. You only get access to the free-to-air channels with this package on Sky Q.

Sky have recently introduced a Sky Essential package for Sky Stream which DOES include Sky Atlantic but this is a very different type of service to Sky Q and is fully streamed so relies entirely on broadband rather than a satellite dish.

As mentioned above.

It only offers free to air channels.

The full list of available channels can be found in link below. That  site is updated regularly.

For Sky Q  essentials package, available channels are listed as the Free-to-air and Sky Q Lite (TV Essentials)

Unfortunately many online sources, including the Google AI response, are horribly confused by the really silly choice of  name for the new streaming product from Sky and its overlap with a much older satellite television option that has no subscription channels.

Ok, but you did post in the Sky Q forum...  (Try posting in the Stream forum https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Stream/bd-p/sky-stream)

Sky Go seems more 'relaxed' on what channels will be displayed, i.e. it will show a HD channel without a sub on Q.
